As you may well be aware, I am not the biggest advocate for group work. Haha you’d think that as a masters student I’d be smart enough to study something else than marketing, which will eventually lead me into a lifetime of collaboration and groups. However, I am not. I am, in fact, even more stupid than that since I what I’m really interested in is advertising and that’s even more people. Ugh people, annoying annoying people.
But to be fair, they’re all not that bad. But one bad egg is enough to mess up the whole freaking cake. So, here’s a bit of back story in list form:
- 4 members in a group
- all from different countries
- 3 girls
- one Egyptian guy (who clearly never wanted to work with us)
- one who doesn’t do his part (but was more than happy to let us do it)
- 3 who call him out on it
- assignment marks that do not get distributed equally
- a huge fight in class (even the lecturer went all pale watching us)
- damage to door of room 388 (as in a fist went through it)
- official disciplinary action will ensue
- 3 girls avoiding Egyptian guy (aka not going to PR class tomorrow morning)
So, all in all, another fun week with group work. This all kinda took away the excitement of having done really well on that assignment (second best grade in class – woop woop!). We’re getting two more group assignments back next week and have to go through the same again…hmmm what was the number of campus security again?
Off to press the magic button that will make everything OK.

Oh wow. This is like an actual group work nightmare :-/
